Spectators

We welcome all spectators to our matches at Garstang Community Academy.

As well as working hard to increase player participation in our sport, we're keen to grow match day attendances too. Hockey has grown in popularity and seen large tv audiences in recent years, thanks mainly to Team GB's Olympic successes in London and Rio. Those players start their hockey journeys at clubs just like ours. Whether you're supporting one of our five league teams or an away side, whether you're new to the game or a regular, come on down.

We're in a beautiful setting and seating has been provided specifically for spectator purposes. There will often be two or even three matches most Saturday afternoons between September and April... what's more, it's FREE!

You can check our fixtures here.

England Hockey Code of Ethics and Behaviour for Spectators and Parents
We all love a cheer and a playful jeer but please be mindful who you may be sitting next to. Heckling of players or umpires is not acceptable. Check out the Code of Ethics below.

Seating & Safety
In the interests of safety and to enable players and umpires to fully focus on their match, we respectfully ask all spectators not to enter the pitch while a match is in progress.

Dogs
We love dogs but please be aware our pitch is located in the grounds of a school and whether you are a responsible owner or not, they are not permitted on to the site. There are signs on the way down to the pitch and all Clubs are made aware of this in our venue information submitted to the League. We're respectful of our location and support the school in their bid to avoid dog mess being inadvertently walked in to school. Please do not be offended if you are asked to leave.
