Boys Report:
The Boys were runners up in to-days competition. We beat Pendle Forrest 5 -0 with goals from Michael 3, Jacob 1 and JJ 1. We then played the favourites Preston 1sts and drew 2 - 2 with 2 goals by Dan. Then we beat Fylde 3 - 1 in the semi-final with goals from Jacob, Michael and Dan. This put is in the final against Preston to play them for the second time and sadly we lost 1 - 4 with a goal from Dan (?). This was a tremendous effort for a new Boys team plus of course mighty Girl Keeper Izzy. Well Done as the shock result of the Boys tournament.
Girls Report:
The Girls followed the Boys on to the pitch and were challenged to do better! The first game was against Fylde Whites - so no easy start! We drew 3 - 3 with them with goals from Lulu, Jess and Charlotte. The second game was against Pendle Forrest whom we beat well despite their gallant keeper 6 - 0 with goals from Jess, Lulu 2, Grace 2 and Jess. We then played a nervy game against Leyland & Chorley 2s and won 1 - 0 with a great goal from Grace and two brilliant saves by Izzy. Suddenly we found ourselves in the final against home team Fylde Blues who had beaten their Whites side in the semis. After a few minutes under pressure at the start we went after them and after missing several chances Lulu scored to give us the lead on 13 minutes. Despite Fylde coming back the defence did well and we ran out 1 - 0 WINNNERs. After spontaneous outbreaks of morale and many photos we went home decidedly happy!
Many thanks to the many parents and committee folk who turned up to support the teams. In the Girls final our support was much louder than Fylde - despite them being the home side. A simply brilliant performance.
