The North West Hockey League has development teams that provide new teams and clubs with the opportunity to learn how to play and administer hockey in a league setting. The goal is to help new teams build a foundation so they can eventually compete in the league. Development teams typically play for one or two seasons before moving on to competitive league hockey.
In 2023/24 we introduced our Ladies Development team supporting players from a variety of backgrounds, from juniors (aged 12 with parental permission) transitioning to senior 11 a side, players stepping up from back to hockey and those new to the sport. The squad meet their purpose week on week and it is fantastic to watch players grow and develop.
Coached by Dom Steele and Dan Winstanley, our Ladies Development team train each Thursday, 6:30pm-7:30pm at Garstang Community Academy. Get in touch with our Head Coach to find out more about our friendly club.
